Thomas Cruise
Life long Arsenal fan Thomas Cruise is another graduate of the Hale End Academy who was a regular in the 2008-2009 double winning squad.
The mobile left back proved a solid option down the left flank as the Gunners scooped the Academy League and F.A Youth Cups in 2009. The former England schoolboy international was also named in Arsène Wenger’s Champions League squad having finally nailed down a set position under Steve Bould.
Cruise began his career as a centre half but has been deployed everywhere from left wing to central midfield. A classy, composed and calm player, he was given the opportunity to impress during the 2007-2008 campaign and took the baton and ran with it. He scored three goals, all at key stages of the season with the final goal proving the most important – a late equaliser against Fulham at the end of the term.
Tommy has proved himself as a mature, composed and hard working member of the team, and was subsequently handed professional forms in July 2008.
