Jay Simpson

Arsenal talisman Jay Simpson is a local boy, and a through and through Arsenal Fan.

Starting off in the system as a goalkeeper before moving up front he was the first player ever to score a hat-trick at The Emirates stadium in the 2006-07 F.A Youth Cup match against Cardiff.

Jay was also the skipper for the Reserves last term and was the top scorer his superb finishing and pace caught the eye of many.

He linked up well with Nacer Barazite and the pair formed a awesome combination in the Youth Cup and well as Reserves matches.

Simpson will spend the whole of the 2007-2008 season getting experience on loan at League 1 side Millwall, where in recent weeks manager Kenny Jackett has used him as a winger.

  6. can you confirm jay will wear the number 38 at arsenal?

  7. Saw this kid play against Swindon as i hold a season ticket for Swindon. Awesome player. Never gives the defence a second, always on their heels and breathing down their neck. Excellent prospect, hope to see him a bit this season!

  8. This young lad could be a great asset to Arsenal. He should go on loan for 6 months and get some experience. I just hope he will not be sold like David bently.

  9. simpson as i understand was league 2s player of da season but have never seen him play.i have a feeling he shuold be loaned again 2 a premier league side like Hull or wigan 2 get premiership xperience.

  10. He got League 1 player of the year didnt he? My 16 year old cousin plays for Millwall youth and trains with the first team quite a bit and he said Jay was easily the best player there. And he’s only 19. Still, he will be sold eventually i reckon.
