Anton Blackwood

North London born Anton joined in the summer of 2007 from Northampton town after a trial with both Arsenal and our North London rivals Tottenham, after both clubs made offers he rejected the chance to move to Spurs and join the club he has supported all his life, Arsenal.

A centre back by trade, but like most of the Gunners second string, he is versatile, being able to play left back, right back, as well as central midfield, Anton possess electric pace, running 100m in 11.1 seconds when he was 14.

He then picked up a injury in pre season and missed the first few months of the season but came back as a sub against Fulham under 18s, and then started against Portsmouth. He told Arsenal.com it would be a dream to play for Arsenal’s first team.

He has now become the first choice for the Under 18s at right-back, his pace and power mean not only can he handle opposition attackers with ease, but he can also offer a superb option going forward, however his lack of concentration at times, can be a worry.
