Craig Eastmond

Academy Premier League and F.A Youth Cup winning full back Craig Eastmond was rewarded for his exploits with a professional contract on July 1st 2009.
The rugged right back quietly went about his business as the Gunners made history. Although he suffered at the hands of Tottenham’s Andros Townsend in the Youth Cup Quarter-Finals, Eastmond was solid and consistent and worked tirelessly for the cause.
Although he came through the ranks as a right-back, Eastmond played our the majority of his scholarship as a utility midfielder, providing a powerful, physical and no nonsense shield in front of the Gunners back four.
The 2007-2008 campaign was a frustrating one for Craig, who got settled in defence during the first three months of the season, only to be forced forward following Anton Blackwood’s return to fitness. However, he would flourish. A Reserve start against an experienced Reading side brought out his best qualities, where the Wandsworth born starlet showed his coolness in possession and eye for a pass.
His first season as a scholar in the Under 18’s brought 30 appearances, and his second 27. After penning the aforementioned pro forms in July 2009, lifelong Gooner Craig has Reserve team football in his sights.

I have seen this young gunner play and I feel he can and will only get better very versertile and seems to be very mature in his approach to the game. Do we have a rising England team player in the making?
