Arsenal Ask Juventude For Second Zézinho Trial

Arsenal have asked Brazilian Serie ‘B’ outfit Juventude for a second look at their exciting teenage midfielder Zézinho as the Gunners continue in their bid to bring the starlet to the Emirates.
Zézinho, full name José Luis dos Santos Pinto, was subject of a £1.5 million bid in July yet that was rejected by chairman Sérgio Florian as they value the player at closer to his buyout clause of £11.9 million. Arsenal’s South American scout Sandro Orlandelli has been making regular checks including witnessing him bag a stunning winner against Portuguesa in August.
The Brazilian Under 17 international was on trial last season along with American midfielder Luis Gil (pictured) but Zézinho’s stock has risen significantly since then. A quick, tricky and skilful left footed winger, he defiantly fits the mould of an Arsène Wenger-esque attacking midfielder but negotiations are at deadlock between the two clubs.
A second trial has been proposed but with Zézinho now a regular fixture, convincing the Serie ‘B’ side to release their star man for a weeks training will be a tricky task for Chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

I want us to sign a player who will become world class like wilshere
TheCritic said this on November 16, 2009 at 5:10 pm
This player looks like he can become worldclass. But 11.9mill buy out clause fuck that. You’d be mad to spend that. LOL why did we offer 1.5 when the buy out is 8x that.

Are we having trials for anyone else at the moment?
TheCritic said this on November 16, 2009 at 5:15 pm
Jay, just how good is this player.?
gooner1886 said this on November 16, 2009 at 5:16 pm
highly rated midfielders we are having right now are ramsey, merida, wilshere, lansbury, coquelin, jet many of these will surely be world class players in years to come, but in case of strikers we have only afobe who has some chances of making it at arsenal,so i really think our next signing will be a striker.

I know it’s a bit off topic, but have you heard anything regarding Afobe/Barca?

Hey J. I know this is off topic. I dont know if you had the chance to watch the FIFA U-17 tournament, but Switzerland had a really wonderful player in Rodriguez. Excellent fullback. My point is we’ve been on our Switz binge lately and was wondering if you think we might offer a trial to this kid?

Surly they would have known how good this Brazilian kid was after his first trial at Arsenal.
Kentpaul said this on November 16, 2009 at 7:50 pm
He is a striker not a midfielder and didnt look all that great in the u17 world cup.
shane said this on November 16, 2009 at 8:02 pm

in any case of such compensation demands it would be similar pay arrangements with clauses and bonuses as with Walcott. Personally I see Wenger as a very conservative gambler on talent, as he did not want to make that gamble with Ronaldo as Ferguson…thank lord…except for the nice compensation fee there
sebjob said this on November 16, 2009 at 9:00 pm
Which makes him a stiker but anyways, the point is that he wasnt very impressive. Pablo Sarabia actually looks like the best talent in the tourney not counting Nigeria players because with the age cheating, you dont really know how old the players are that you are watching. Buy the way, have you heard of a kid called Jaizinho Arroe of peru and siena. He looked a real gem at the u17 south america tourney.

What is about the brazilian wellington who was for a couple of month at a trial at arsenal? I have heard for a lot of time nothing about that…

End of the day, Arsenal youth will become just like the Oxford University.

He was involved in the u17 world cup as a sub.
shane said this on November 17, 2009 at 12:21 am
@monmohit// probably only 2-3 players of the current crop of youngsters will make it to the first team and stay there.
just because a youngster plays at arsenal doesn’t mean he will be world class
hiro said this on November 17, 2009 at 12:46 am
Afobe score alot of goals at youth level but freeman have the best overall play. I will chose freeman ahead of afobe any day. Sunu and Watt works extremly hard for the team and I hope they become our world class players. Watt have the style of play which reminds me very much of Henry. I think he will turn out to be a big star for us.

Sanchez Watt is awesome,
( I hope we make moves for Kabiru Akinsola and Romelu Lukaku)

J, can you do a post on the best players of the u-17 world cup?
kv said this on November 17, 2009 at 11:00 am
Speaking of the U17 world cup, isn’t it fascinating that Switzerland won it, and the country that we’ve been signing youngsters from is … Switzerland. Shows how far ahead of the game the Arsenal youth setup is.

11.8 ia too high. 1.5 million seems about right. http://bobbygee.wordpress.com/

How do we keep getting these talents? how do they get work permits. This Mexican and the 2 swiss guy areb’t in the EC and certainly won’t have played 75% of games for their countries..
can someone enlighten me how we get round this loophole ?
