Arsenal To Pack Underhill For Eduardo’s Return

Arsenal fans are expected to fill a large majority of Underhill’s 5,568 capacity tomorrow evening as Eduardo da Silva returns to competitive action.
The like-able Croatian International has been missing since February after suffering a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle during the Gunners 2-2 draw with Birmingham City.
Extensive surgery, speculation over his long term future and 4 months of painstaking rehabilitation have followed, but finally Eduardo is ready to make his competitive return.
Young Guns learnt that the 25-year-old featured for the closing stages against Nottingham Forest in late November, in a specially arranged friendly. However, with those vital minutes under his belt, Arsène Wenger is ready to test Eduardo’s mental and physical state as Neil Banfield’s Reserves take on Portsmouth.
Such as been the support for the front-man, the usual crowd of 100 is expected to be dwarfed as around 4000 fans prepare to spend their Tuesday evening watching the second string.
Tickets are free, so if you want to wish ‘Dudu’ well and welcome him back to football, get down to Barnet’s Underhill stadium for the 7pm kick off. Due to the abnormal levels of fans attending, it’s advised you travel well in advance.
A full match report will be available shortly after the full time whistle, and a match preview to get you in the mood will be added tomorrow afternoon.

nice article, but it is likeable, not like-able.

Another Arsenal reserve & youth blog says that Eduardo has been in training for over a month but, contrary to reports, he did NOT feature against Nottingham Forest Reserves in the friendly last month. You reckon he DID play against Forest. Who is right?

J, Jeorge is saying Eduardo did NOT play against Forest.
You are normally both spot on.
Who is right this time?

with 12 goals and 8 assists from 29 matches, he will indeed be a great asset for the team.

Great news for Arsenal if he can come through. Some of the young guns may benefit from playing with him for a few games Rui Fonte et al. Good luck Du Du.

the sooner he return to first team the better. arsenal needs this quality player. but i don’t think he will hit top form straight away. i hope people give him time to recover his form and play well again.

Glad to hear Dudu is back. The first few challenges will be the toughest. After that, hopefully he’ll settle in and get fully fit.

Think that simpson and bichoff cant play together and wenger wants the souts to see simpson so thatn he can go out on loan and does anyone think that bichoff will ever play for the first team i was sure we would see him off the bench against porto and good to hear hoyte gigned a four year deal

I really hope he is even if wenger dosnt plan on using him. Just so i get to cheer his name, its my last game for a while due to credit crunch ‘n’all

It looks to be almost identical to the team that played against Burnley. Coquelin in for Silvestre and the front line is changed out. This is definitely a very strong line-up. Too bad living in Iceland right now, otherwise I would be down there watching.

1st half analysis
fabianski- playin well saved his defenders at the start aint really been tested
hoyte- playing like a captain
rodgers- his pace is really helping, playing better than his game at burnley
gibbs- good attacking wise needs to put i more quality crosses
coquelin- probably the best in first half, great player definetely a star in the making, VERY strong
ramsey- playing well but misplacing passes
randall- playing well, misplacing passes but playing better than ramsey
merida- his loan spell has made him more vicious and adjusted for this country thanks real sociedad!
wilshere- playing like gerrard all over the pitch
eduardo- playin like he never left, but first touch is nearly back, not much running
simpson- playing well good diagonal runs
overall the team are playin well look like a goal was cumin da whole time
