Gouffran would be a quality signing.

80000 euros a week? You’re having a laugh. Sounds like utter bollocks to me-unless he actually signs for us Im not believing it. Plus, why would Wenger buy another winger/striker? He has Vela coming in, adding to RVP, Ade, Eduardo, Bendtner and Walcott.

He was offered 80,000 euros a month (before tax) by PSG. and it says he has already signed a precontract agreement with us. Sounds pretty solid coming from europsort. who knows what will happen to walcott and bendtner….will gouffran be played right wing or up front? what happens to ade and rvp, maybe weng will play a 433. cesc flam hleb in mifdfiled with gouffran/walcott, ade/bendtner and rvp/eduardo up front.
I find that unlikely as weng likes 442 or 451 too much. however, we have a lot of strikers all of a sudden. who´s ade going to nut now?

Nick – don’t write off Rosicky so easily!! Remember the match against Brummies when nothing was created and then the match against Fulham. Rosicky takes defenders away with him creating space and he’s integral to our attack.

I might have believe this till the point of 80k salary that should put him in the same salaries as the senior players..which is highly unlikely for a youngster

yeah is nice for us to have nice and quality striker and we nead midfilder and defender as well cos all of them are working thier self if we can still sign in 2 quality midfilder and 2 quality defenfer add the it to our squad i know every body will fear us cos i still believe in the young players we are using they play very well more than the old players but what i think is that we can still get some adult players that thier age are aroung 23 to 26 couse i know they we be strong and teach them football also the is what i fink

I don’t think there is a need for arsenal to strengthen their squad now, all we need to do is to pray for van persie to come cal ar early as possible
Kaybee said this on January 26, 2008 at 9:24 am
We need cover on the wings for sure. So if Vela can play left, Gourfrann right, as well as up top then thats cool. Although I think we could do with a new CB as well now.
Gourcuff went to Milan, BTW.
Grover Washington Jr said this on January 26, 2008 at 10:09 am
Gourcuff went to Italy not Gouffran
Steve B said this on January 26, 2008 at 11:25 am
Gouffran decided not to join his hometown club PSG, because of the turmoil they were in. Their star player Jerome Rothen had a disagreement with some fans who wanted him to support their motion of defiance to the board. In response they threaten him and his family. We are not talking about empty threat as they slashes his tires when at home.
He was offered 80,000€/month. I am pretty sure that Arsenal could pay that.
Despite being a striker, last year in ligue 2 he has predominently play as a left winger or a second striker. He does not have enough physical presence to play the lone striker in a 4-5-1, so Adebayor and Bentdner are safe.
I think that Arsene Wenger see him more for next year competiting with Carlos Vela for the left side of the play or to play the support striker when Van Persie is in one of his long injury lay-off.

Seeing as nothing new has come out of this I dont think its true, especially because there was the same rumour in the Summer. It had even been said we had signed him back then.
80000euros works out to about £60000 a month- or £15000 a week. Not massive wages bearing in mind he is not in fact a ‘youngster’ by our standards- 21 years old.

I am very impressed with your site and now enjoy it more than any other. It is great to get news of our younger players and particularly of new signings who may become future first teamers. Any confirmation yet on the signing of Yoan Goufran?
Like many others I do hope that our manager will sign one or two more established players next seasonn but am always amazed at the changes of opinion as to who others feel we should sign. Earlier in the season it was Huntelaar and Modric but now they hardly get a mention!
I do hope you manage to keep your site free of those morons who seem unable to express themselves without using foul language. It is so much more pleasurable to read the views of intelligent people.
I have supported Arsenal for more than 60 years and feel that during the last ten years our current manager has produced the best teams I have ever watched. But please Arsene could we have just a little more strength in depth so that we can realise our full potential and win more silverware. It has been so frustrating over the past few years to see us play so brilliantly and then to throw everything down the drain by our failure to beat the lower placed teams (usually because of injuries but occasionally because our top players just do not seem sufficiently motivated to play at their best and score more goals when they have the opportunity). And I am still smarting over those humiliating losses to the two teams I hate most of all. Spurs (local rivalry) and Man U.(because of their manager).

GOUFFRAN HAVE A SIGNED ARSENAL
On l’attendait à Paris, Yoan Gouffran pourrait finalement traverser la Manche. It is expected to Paris, Yoan Gouffran could finally cross the English Channel. Et pas pour n’importe quel club anglais. And not for any English club. Selon nos sources, le jeune attaquant de Caen aurait déjà signé un pré-contrat avec Arsenal. According to our sources, the young striker Caen has already signed a pre-contract with Arsenal. Sans grande surprise. No big surprise. Car les Gunners surveillent l’international espoir depuis longtemps. Because the monitor international Gunners hope for a long time. Ils auraient finalement profité du refus d’aller à Paris de celui qui a été élu meilleur joueur de Ligue 2 la saison passée pour se repositionner. They have finally taken advantage of the refusal to go to Paris who has been voted the best player in Ligue 2 last season to reposition. Et surtout l’attirer avec un contrat d’une autre ampleur que celui proposé par le PSG qui aurait refroidi le Caennais (80 000 euros brut par mois)… And especially to attract a contract with a different scale than that proposed by the PSG would have cooled the Caennais (80 000 euros gross per month) …
